ScreenHello / Compression
Image compression you can preview
Compare PNG lossless optimisation and lossy palette reduction, WebP lossless and quality-controlled exports in ScreenHello. See actual output size before downloading.
Lossless is not the same as quality 100
PNG lossless optimisation preserves pixels but does not guarantee a smaller file. PNG lossy mode reduces the palette to 256, 128 or 64 colours and may change gradients and translucent shadows. WebP has a true lossless option; JPG, WebP and AVIF quality sliders are lossy, even at 100. WebP export flattens transparency to white before encoding.
Compare the same composition
Open Export and generate a preview. Compare the standard export and compressed result at the same canvas size, inspect at 100%, and read the actual byte size. The reference is the rendered composition, not the imported original. A larger result is reported honestly. Downloading a valid preview reuses those exact bytes.
Limits and local processing
New compression modes and full previews are limited to 1,048,576 pixels. Standard PNG/JPG/WebP allow 16,777,216 pixels; standard AVIF allows 4,194,304 pixels. Each side is limited to 8192 pixels. Reduce canvas size or scale when necessary. Encoders load from this site on first use and run locally. Batch processing accepts up to 12 images and downloads successful results in a ZIP.
